Ignacio Ramonet was born in Spain in 1943

Doctorate in semiology and in cultural history (Ecole des hautes études en sciences sociales, Paris)

Président of the Board of Monde Diplomatioque SA

Editor in Chief of the monthly Le Monde diplomatique and of the bi-monthly Manière de voir since 1991.

Associated professor of communication theory at Denis-Diderot University (Paris-VII). Also Associated professor at the Carlos III University of Madrid, Spain.
He is further invited professor at various universities, to note at Saint Petersburg (Russia) Puerto Rico, Santo Domingo, Havana, Buenos Aires, Las Palmas and Valencia.
